The Henderson group of the Riding for the Disabled is one of fifty six groups throughout New Zealand who provide opportunities for children and adults whose disability limits their quality of life.We are a voluntary non-profit organisation which means we rely on the generosity of the community and businesses to ensure that we are able to continue to provide a high level of service to our riders.
We were established in 1976.

Operating Hours:
We operate during school terms, at Henderson Valley Pony Club, 201A Henderson Valley Road. Our rallies are on Monday and Tuesday mornings between 9am and 12noon.
Riding for the Disabled caters for children who:
- Are physically challenged with cerebral palsy, spina bifida, paraplegia, multiple sclerosis, muscular dystrophy, brain injury, stroke or have visual and hearing impairment; or
- Have intellectual disabilities or multiple disabilities; or
- Have learning disabilities
Our goal is:
To provide confidence, independence and well being for people with disabilities through therapeutic horse riding and horse care.
