We welcomed all our riders and volunteers back to the New Year recently.
Our riders from Arohanui school are enjoying their introductory trek!
2010 promises to be very busy for riders and volunteers alike,
and with a bit of luck the weather will hold and we will get plenty of riding in.

Read about our new horses, our new bench, and our lovely visitors.
This year we applied for the inaugural Gull NZ round of grants. We were very fortunate to be awarded funds to purchase new covers for our ponies and help transport our riders to regional events.
Our covers are on order, and will be embroidered. Let me tell you now - our ponies are extremely grateful and look forward to modelling their new covers - photo coming soon…
Many thanks to the ARA Lodge 348 IC Charitable Trust for a grant we received which will go towards volunteer trainng and operational expenses. The ARA Lodge have supported us for many years, and we are very grateful to once again receive another grant.
Without the support of groups such as this, we would be unable to provide the service that we do.
We have been entered into the Canon Creative for a Cause competition which gives us the opportunity to win $25,000!!
To enter we were required to submit a photo, and we have generously been given permission to use a wonderful photo taken by AA Magazine photographer John Selkirk of Hayden and Glennie.
For us to win we need you to VOTE FOR US!! You can do that by using this link and going to the Canon Creative for a Cause website.

Our new memorial bench
We have been kindly been provided with a great new bench by Waitakere City Council. The bench is situated near the main paddock so is a great spot for parents, caregivers to watch our rallies and soak up some sun. We shall shortly organise a plaque for the bench. The plaque will commemorate four wonderful RDA horses that have died over the last few years, Visa, Domo, Jack and Pepe.
Many thanks to our volunteer Dave Brooks for liaising with the council to get the bench for us.
Three of our volunteers, Sandra, Pia and Erika had both an eventful and educational trip recently to the National Training Seminar in Marlborough. Read more…
